Colibri Garden x Healing Maps Video Series: Navigating Your Ayahuasca Ceremony

Apr 13, 2023 | 0 comments

Drinking ayahuasca is no small feat. Even if you’ve prepared well, stuck to the diet, and meditated every day, there can still be moments during the ceremony where you feel utterly overwhelmed. So, it’s no wonder we all feel some fear before we drink the medicine – we never know what we’re going to get.

As well as adopting different practices to help you prepare for your ayahuasca experience, there are a few things you can do during your journey which will help you navigate the experience and stay in your center if things start to get intense.

In these two videos, made in collaboration with Healing Maps, Ivaylo dives into why (as long as you’re safe and in the right hands!) there’s no real reason to be scared to drink ayahuasca. Ivaylo also discusses his top navigation tips for an ayahuasca ceremony – helping you to welcome the medicine in and get the most out of your experience.

In this video, Ivaylo discusses why you shouldn’t be scared of ayahuasca, as long as you’re drinking the medicine with trained facilitators who are acting in integrity. Ayahuasca is generally very safe for those who have been screened for any potential contraindicated conditions or medications.

Many people on the medicine path will tell you that while it’s normal to feel nervous before drinking ayahuasca, the real fear comes from the thought of going back to old behaviour and thinking patterns that were no longer serving us.

In this video, Ivaylo takes us through his top five navigation tips for your ayahuasca ceremony. These are: feel your feelings, use mantras and anchors, focus on the breath, pray, and ask your body. Check out the video to hear his specific guidance for each of these tips!

If you enjoyed the videos, please don’t forget to like, subscribe, and comment! We’d love to hear what you think in the comments section of this blog post too.
